New Method for Exact Calculation of Green Functions in Scalar Field Theory

چکیده
We present a new method for calculating the Green functions for a lattice scalar field theory in D dimensions with arbitrary potential V (φ). The method for non-perturbative evaluation of Green functions for D=1 is generalized to higher dimensions. We define “hole functions” A (i = 0, 1, 2, · · · , N−1) from which one can construct N -point Green functions. We derive characteristic equations of A that form a finite closed set of coupled local equations. It is shown that the Green functions constructed from the solutions to the characteristic equations satisfy the Dyson-Schwinger equations. To fix the boundary conditions of A, a prescription is given for selecting the vacuum state at the boundaries.

Variational Field Theoretic Approach to Relativistic Scattering
Nonperturbative polaron variational methods are applied, within the so-called particle or worldline representation of relativistic field theory, to study scattering in the context of the scalar Wick Cutkosky model. Important features of the variational calculation are that it is a controlled approximation scheme valid for arbitrary coupling strengths, the Green functions have all the cuts and p...
متن کاملWilson Renormalization Group formulation of Real Time thermal field theories
We apply Renormalization Group techniques to the Real Time formulation of thermal field theory. Due to the separation between the T = 0 and the T = 0 part of the propagator in this formalism, one can derive exact evolution equations for the Green functions describing the effect of integrating out thermal fluctuations of increasing wavelengths, the initial conditions being the renormal-ized Gree...
متن کاملCalculating the infra-red limit of quantum field theory using analyticity of correlation functions
We describe a general method for calculating the infra-red limit of physical quantities in unitary quantum field theories. Using analyticity of Green functions in a complex scale parameter, the infra-red limit is expressed as a contour integral entirely in the ultra-violet region. The infra-red limit is shown to be the limit of the Borel transform of the physical quantity. The method is illustr...
متن کاملWave Propagation in Rectangular Nanoplates Based on a New Strain Gradient Elasticity Theory with Considering in-Plane Magnetic Field
In this paper, on the basis of a new strain gradient elasticity theory, wave propagation in rectangular nanoplates by considering in-plane magnetic field is studied. This strain gradient theory has two gradient parameters and has the ability to compare with the nonlocal elasticity theory. From the best knowledge of author, it is the first time that this theory is used for investigating wave pro...
متن کاملViscosity Calculation of Supercritical Gases Based on the Rainwater-Friend Theory and the Modified Enskog Theory
A new correlation function for the calculation of viscosity for five typical supercritical gases is presented using the rainwater-Friend and modified Enskog theory. It is shown that by using accurate value for the thermal pressure and co-volume in the modified Enskog theory, this correlation function is suitable for calculation of the viscosity of supercritical gases, without any density an...
